A sentence people say all the time, that they aren't ashamed of the gospel of the Word of God called the Bible. Yet, it's taken such a long time to come to this point, to truly say I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, to stop keeping the Bible away once people start looking, to stop pretending like the black book in my hand isn't the much heard of Bible, to stop giving in to the thoughts of "isn't there something better to read/do?"
The book, the Word of God, is what gives me the ability to live this life out, to walk this path called life, to see the light when all else seems dark. It is the reason why each step isn't as painful, the reason why there is joy, hope and the belief that love does exist, and that I am loved indeed. It is the power of salvation, to everyone who believes, it is what picks people up, comforts them, it is what everyone's looking for, and yet often miss, be it through cynicism, through logic, through the hurt. The answe's been here all the time, yet it's so easy to miss at times.
It is the power of salvation to all who have been hurt, to all who are struggling, to all who are rejected, to all who are imperfect, to all who have never met the mark set on them. God never cared for it all, He loved us, wanted to see us saved, that was why He sent His son to die for us on that cross so many years ago.
Now I understand why the Word's so important, and can truly say, "I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ."
