And campus yesterday was GOOD. Correction, it was -totally- fantastic, mindblowing and life changing. Pastor really blew us away when he said: shame doesn't attack your doing, it attacks your BEING. When you think about it, it's loads worse, since it causes your identity to waver. It's just such a relevant message at this point. Then he pointed out that this sense of shame was actually from condemnation. like wt...never really saw it that way. But pastors are amazing, God's just using them to really minister to all of us sheep^^
So thankful for the sermon, there's so much more that he said, just listed those that really hit me. Never even realised that it was shame that was bugging me. The LOVIEST part was when Pastor pointed out in John 8, when the Pharisees brought before Him a woman caught in the act of adultery. By the law, she is supposed to be stoned so they asked Jesus what He would say about it. Jesus placed it so cleverly. He said:
He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
Thing is, -everyone- of us is WITH sin, so none of us have the right to condemn her, EXCEPT Jesus. And when all whom accused and condemned her had left after being convicted by their conscience, Jesus asked her where her accusers and condemners had gone and if no man had condemned her. She then replied, NO MAN, Lord.
The most beautiful part is here, Jesus then said, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
It's amazing! The ONLY one whom has the right to stone and condemn us, doesn't. It' such a relief, really. Because Jesus took my sin, -my- cross and -my- SHAME. just, wow.
