Namaste! Back from the dera ramro [very beautiful] land of Nepal, and definitely thankful for having gone =) It's amazing how meeting new people and having time to actually sit and think causes one to re-evaluate one's views of life. Perhaps even having time to think was the key factor, but in many ways, the Nepalese culture, people and the places definitely nudged the direction of thoughts. Many a times, I was left wondering, how could I as an outsider, possibly be a blessing, when I take more than I give, I receive more help than I can offer, and I learn more than I have taught? Yet the villagers show no displeasure over it, they open up their houses, offer all that they have, and always have a ready smile to offer. What more can a person ask for?
It definitely causes one to wonder, where is their source of strength and joy? Even after everyone that I have met, all that I have seen , it's something that I still can't figure out. Perhaps, just perhaps, that's why I still need Christ, because it is the sole source of joy that I have ever known =s
Maybe, at the end of this trip, all that I can truly hold dear are the memories of the children, their sweet gestures, the smile in their eyes, the calls of namaste, the gorgeous scenery, the cold intakes of air, the many random hilarious moments, the kindness shown to us, the ties formed and most of all, the feeling of thankfulness for the restored hope in humanity =)
For photos of the trip though, please head over to the facebook group for Namaste II here! That's all for now, and as said in Nepal, tata!
